1. You need to install a bittorrent client to start your download, just like you need to install a icq client before talking with your friends with icq. There are many bittorrent clients, we recommend you use utorrent and bitcomet. You need only to choose one of them.

2. You need a .torrent file to tell the client the info of files you want to download. I.e. if you want to download a linux system install file, you might open http://www.hellotorrent.com/ and seach "linux" in site, click one of the results and enter the detail page, click download button to download the torrent file which might be called linux.torrent.
3. Please note that, you haven't got the linux install file untill now, you only get a torrent file. You must open this torrent file with a bittorrent client by double clicking this file. And then the client will know where to get the linux install system for you. What you need is only waiting until the download task finished.
