How to create a new site in TorrentBar Union

I have a domain name of my own or I want to buy one.
I don't have a domain name and I want to create a sub-domain from one of the three domain names supplied by TorrentBar Union to set up the new site.

As soon as you've got your domain name, you can continue the set up.

Set up a sub-domain name. “WWW” is also a sub-domain. I.e. www.mysite.com.

Point the CNAME of this sub-domain to cname01.torrentbar.net. Click here to get some help!

Wait up to 48 hours for your DNS changes to take effect.

Sign in your affiliate account in TorrentBar Union.

Click "Create a new site" on the left of the page.



Make the checkbox before "Use my own domain name" selected

Fill your sub-domain name into the textbox after "My domain name:" and click "Next" button to continue the set up.
   NOTE: If your cname record has not taken effect, your set up will fail. You could try hours later

     7.     When you see a prompt like the following picture, it means your site has been created successfully. Please follow the instructions to configure your site.

Sign in your affiliate account in TorrentBar Union

Click  "Create a new site" on the left of the page.

Make the checkbox before "Use free sub_domains supplied by TorrentBar Union" selected.

Select a top domain name from the three supplied ones, and input your wanted sub-domain into the text box. I.e., I input demo here to create a sub-domain: demo.hellotorrent.com. If the entered sub-domain has been occupied by someone else, you will get informed to change it.

Click "Next" to continue your set up.


When you see a prompt like the following picture, it means your site has been created successfully. Please follow the instructions to configure your site.

How to place ads on your site to make money?

Before adding ads to your site, you must have at least an account in some ads agencies. We suggest you apply an account for adbrite to begin making money. click this button to go to adbrite

Now you can set up several different ad zones in adbrite and copy the ad codes in order to add them to your site.

Let me show you how to use these ad codes.

Sign in your account for TorrentBar Union, click "Manage ads", click "Edit ad zones" beside the site name you want.

In this ad management page, you will see a picture like this showing you layout of the ad zones. There is an orange ad zone marked as reserved ad zone. This zone is edited and managed by TorrentBar Union. Because all the services supplied by us are entirely free, we need this ad zone to earn some money to support the servers. We hope you could understand.

Scrolling down the page, you will see several textbox like this. Input the ad codes you have got and click "Save" button on the bottom of the page. Preview your site to see if everything is OK and bring traffic to your site to make money now.
Note: there are some suggestions on the right of the textboxes on the ad sizes. You can create ad zones according to these suggestions or your need.

how to review the website traffic of your site?

Although you could add your own stats codes in your site (click here to see how to add stats codes), we still support a very simple traffic stats showing you total IPs and pageviews.
Sign in your account, click "Manage sites", then click "Website traffic" under the site you want to review.

Waiting few seconds, you will see a page containing some stats like the following picture.

Pageviews: a pageview is defined as a view of a page on your site that is being tracked by the Analytics tracking code. If a visitor hits reload after reaching the page, this will be counted as an additional pageview. If a user navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, a second pageview will be recorded as well.

IPs: the total of visitors in different IPs. Some visitors are using the same IP to visit your site, although they are different persons using different PCS, even in different places. However, they will be recorded as one IP and the stats program will add 1 to the total. Similarly, if you hit a page with one IPs, change your IP and reload the page, you will be counted as 2 IPs. Using different proxies, you might get different IPs.

Pageviews per IP: total pageviews divided by IPs. It is an average of pageviews that users with different IPs hitting every time, which means how much your visitors like your site.

How to delete a site from my account?

If you want to delete a site from your account ,just sign in your account, click "Manage sites", click "Remove it" below the site you want to delete and confirm the alert. Your site and all the settings for this site are to be removed immediately.

How to add third-party traffic stats codes to your site?

Although we supply you with very simple traffic stats, you may also want to add some third-party traffic stats codes to your site. There are many sites supplying these codes, among which http://www.google.com/analytics/ is outstanding.
When you get these codes, you could add them to your affiliate site according to this guide.

Sign in your account, click "Manage sites", then click "Edit site info" under the site into which you want to add the codes.

After a few seconds, you will see a page like the following picture. Input or edit the codes into the textbox after "Website traffic stats code:" and click "save" button. All is done, test these stats code now.

How to edit the "title", "meta keywords" and "meta description" of your site?

Making a good title and filling your site with excellent keywords and description in meta information will make your site more friendly to search engine. We give you a very easy way to change all these information. Just sign in your account, click "Manage sites", then click "Edit site info" under the site you want to edit.

After a few seconds, you will see a page like the following picture. Input or edit every thing you want to change in the corresponding textbox and click "save" button. All is done, refresh your site and you will find your changes have taken effect.

How do I create a CNAME record for my domain name?

A CNAME, or Canonical Name, record is an entry within the Domain Name System (DNS) that specifies where a user can find your web pages, or any other URL. You'll use this to associate your custom domain with your site.

After registering your domain, decide if you want to use a particular subdomain for your site. E.g. instead of www.mydomain.com you could use something like torrent.mydomain.com, if you want. Then you'll create a corresponding CNAME record for that address, associating it with ghs.google.com.

Keep in mind that changes to DNS records make take up to 48 hours to take effect.

Each hosting service has slightly different ways to create CNAME records. Guidelines are provided here for some of the common services. When in doubt, check with the particular company you're using for additional help or instructions.

Log in to your account at www..com domaindiscount24 .
Click "Domain admin", You'll be directed to the Domains Management page.
Click the domain that you'd like to add a sub-domain to.
Fll in the sub-domain name (i.e. demo.torrentroom.net ) into the textbox after "Create a subdomain" on the top of the page and click "create" button
Click "DNS Forwarding (IN CNAME) " to open this tab and input "cname01.torrentbar.net" into the textbox in this tab
Click "save" on the bottom of the page. Now all have been done.

GoDaddy.com

Log in to your account at www.godaddy.com.
Open the Domains tab and select My Domain Names. You'll be directed to the Manage Domains page.
Click the domain that you'd like to use with your site.
Click the Total DNS Control And MX Records in the box entitled Total DNS Control.
Click Add New CNAME Record. If you've already created a CNAME record for your site's address, click Edit next to the existing CNAME record.
For the Name, enter only the subdomain of the address you want to use for your site. For example, if you picked www.mydomain.com as your address, enter www here.
Enter ghs.google.com as the Host Name.
Click Continue, and then click Add. If you're editing an existing CNAME record, click Continue and Update.

Log in to your account at ix web hosting.
Click Manage below the Hosting Account section.
On the left side, click the domain you’d like to use with your site.
Next to DNS Configuration, click EDIT.
Click Add DNS CNAME Record.
Under Name, enter only the subdomain you want to use. For example, if you picked www.mydomain.com as your site's address, just enter www as the entry under Name.
Enter ghs.google.com under Data.
Click Submit.

Log in to your account at https://admin.1and1.com
If it's not already selected, click the Administration tab.
Click Domains. The Domain Overview page appears.
From the New drop-down menu, select Create Subdomain. (If you've already created a subdomain for your site's address, skip to step six.)
Enter only the subdomain you want to use, and click OK. For example, if you chose www.mydomain.com for your site's address, you should enter www here.
Select the checkbox next to the subdomain that you will be using. (Example: www.mydomain.com)
From the DNS menu, select Edit DNS Settings.
Click the radio button next to CNAME.
Enter ghs.google.com next to Alias.
Click OK.

EveryDNS.net

Log in to your account at EveryDNS.net.
On the left side, click the domain you’d like to use with your site.
Since EveryDNS.net is your hosting service, and not your domain registrar, be sure that your domain points to EveryDNS.net’s nameservers. This will allow your CNAME record configuration to take effect.
Below Add a Record:, you can create your CNAME record.
Next to Fully Qualified Domain Name, enter only the subdomain you want to use. For example, if you picked www.mydomain.com as your site's address, just enter www as the entry next to Fully Qualified Domain Name.
Select CNAME as the Record Type.
Enter ghs.google.com as the Record Value.
Click Add Record.

Yahoo!SmallBusiness

Log in to your account at smallbusiness.yahoo.com.
Click Domain Control Panel below the domain you'd like to use with your site.
Click Manage Advanced DNS Settings.
Click Add Record.
In the Source field, enter only the subdomain you want to use. For example, if you designated www.mydomain.com as the address of your site, enter www in the Source field.
Enter ghs.google.com in the Destination field.
Click Submit.

No-IP

Log in to your account at No-IP.
On the left side, click Host/Redirects.
Click Manage underneath Host/Redirects.
Click Add for a new entry, or click Modify and skip to step six for an existing entry.
Enter the host name (example: www from www.mydomain.com), and select your domain name.
Select DNS alias CNAME at the host type.
Enter ghs.google.com as the Target Host and click Modify.

DNS Park

Log in to your account at DNS Park.
On the left side, click DNS Hosting.
Click the domain you’d like to use with your site.
Since DNS Park is your hosting service, and not your domain registrar, be sure that your domain points to DNS Park’s nameservers. This will allow your MX record configuration to take effect.
Click Alias Records.
Under Host Name, enter only the subdomain you want to use. If you picked www.mydomain.com as your site's address, enter www.
Under Destination Name, enter ghs.google.com.
Click Add Alias.

Other hosting services

Log in to your account on your hosting service's website, and go to the DNS management page.
Since CNAME records are special Domain Name Service (DNS) records, they may be in sections such as DNS Management or Name Server Management. It's possible that you will have to enable advanced settings to create a CNAME record.
Delete existing CNAME entries for the address you want to use with your site.
Before entering a new CNAME record to point to Google, you should first delete any existing entries for the same alias. If you plan to transfer an existing web address to site, you may want to copy any content currently at that address elsewhere first.

Use the information in the following table when you create your CNAME record.
If your service requires you to enter server information directly into the DNS tables, the entry below needs to have a type CNAME associated with them.

* This is the part of your website’s address that you designated. For instance, if you chose `www.mydomain.com` as the address, `www` is the host name.

How to edit head and foot of your site?

Before you edit the head and foot, the head and foot of your site are left blank like the following pictures.

To make your site more attractive, we suggest you put some contents in the head or foot. There are two ways to edit them. 1. Make your own logo with texts or an image; 2. Customize your head and foot with any contents you like. No matter which way you prefer, you have to login in the demo's account, click "Manage Sites", and then click "Edit head & foot" under the site you want to edit.

Note: If you are not using your own domain names but a sub-domain supported by TorrentBar Union, you are not permitted to customize the head and foot.

1. Make your own logo with texts or an image
leave the checkbox before "Use customized head and foot" blank, you will see the following picture.

Input the texts which you want to be the text logo into the text area after "Site name:" i.e. "Demo Site Logo", you will see the texts as the logo on the head of the site as the following picture.

You can also use an image logo by inputting the url of the image into the text box after "Site LOGO:" i.e. inputting "http://www.torrentroom.com/images/logo.jpg" will give your site a logo like the following picture.
NOTE: Do not forget to click "Save" and If you input a logo url, your logo texts will be skipped.

2. Customize your own head and foot.
If you unsatisfied with this simple logo, you can also customize your own head and foot. Let's show an example by a customized head. Making a customized foot is very similar, so I don't want to repeat.
Make html codes for your head, for example, I wanted a head like this.

Then I wrote the html codes for this head and went to http://u.torrentbar.com/htmltojs.htm, input the html codes into the top text area and copied auto generated JavaScript codes from the bottom text area.

Then I saved these codes into a file named head.js and uploaded it to my host. Clicked checkbox before "Use customized head and foot", input the URL of the js file into the textbox after "HeaD JS URL", clicked "Save".

All was done, you could see my site got a head like this.

How to change the colors of your site?

Sign in the demo's account.Click "Manage Sites", and then click "Edit color template" under the site you want to edit.

In this page, you can edit the site colors in two methods. Select a pre-defined color template or customize your own colors.

Select a pre-defined color template
Review 6 different color templates and choose the one you like. You can click "Preview" to see what a color template looks like. Then click use below your wanted color template to set it as default. When you see an alert saying "updated successfully", your settings have been saved.
Note: all color templates will be shown in layout template 1 (L1) no matter which layout template you are using now.

Customize your own colors
On the lower page, you can choose any color for nearly every element in your site by clicking the color selectors or inputting the color numbers. Click "Where you see this color" enable you to see how this color setting works. You can either edit each color yourself or import one of the pre-defined color templates by clicking the template name and make some modifications to make your site looks better.

It's quite important not to forget to click "Save" button on the bottom to save your settings

How to change the layout of your site?

Sign in the demo's account.
Click "Manage Sites", and then click "Edit layout template" under the site you want to edit.
You will see 3 different layout templates shown in the page. Select any one you like and click "use" below your wanted template to set it as default. Also you can click preview to see what your site will look like. Just consider whether you like the layout here, colors can be changed in "edit color template" page.
When you see an alert telling you "changes saved", your new layout templates is active.
